Producer: Khom Loy, Tha Thong Hmong hill tribe
Developed by Khom Loy, a registered foundation supporting refugee and ethnic minority groups on the borders of Thailand and Burma/Myanmar. The piece has components created by the Tha Thong Hmong village in Chiang Rai, about 100 Tha Thong women produce traditional Hmong embroidery, but the majority of villagers earn a living on the rice fields, an increasingly difficult occupation as agricultural efforts run up against the regions hilly topography as well as the villages growing population.
