From the series One Hundred Famous Views of Edo. Depicts a popular viewpoint of Edo Bay where according to legend Minamoto no Yoshiie hung his armour on this tree in 1062. Hiroshige adapts the shape of the tree so that only a giant could have hung his armour on it

Born in Edo Castle (present day Tokyo) in 1797, Hiroshige was one of the last great Ukiyo-e artists. Ukiyo-e means pictures of the floating world and depict images of everyday life.
