Artist: Alfons Mucha
Born in Moravia in 1860, Mucha was a pioneer of the Art Nouveau movement in France. Often frustrated with his own success in commercial art, Mucha insisted his artwork came from spiritual Czech artwork, and attempted to focus on more lofty artwork that projected this concept.
